Rubber seals are the most common sealing element. Seals can be divided into different categories according to material, characteristics and form of movement.

Rubber seals are the most commonly used sealing elements. Rubber seals can be divided into multiple categories based on their main materials, characteristics, and movement.

1. Classification by material

According to different materials, the sealing ring can be divided into nitrile rubber sealing ring, silicone rubber sealing ring, fluorine rubber sealing ring and so on.

2. Classified according to seal characteristics

According to the use and materials of rubber seals, it can be divided into high temperature resistant seals, low temperature resistant seals, high pressure resistant seals, wear resistant seals, and corrosion resistant seals.

3. According to their form of movement

There are usually two types of seal ring movements, namely static seals and dynamic seals. Static seal means sealing on two stationary surfaces. The most widely used O-rings in sealing rings are mainly used in static seals, followed by gasket seals. In dynamic seals, contact seals and non-contact seals can be classified according to whether the sealing ring is in contact with the parts moving relative to each other. Among them, the rubber sealing using contact sealing method. Generally in the dynamic seal, the common forms of rubber seals are rotary seals and reciprocating seals.
