Silicone rubber sheet's features, application and methods of use

Silicone rubber sheet is an industrial rubber sheet made of 100% pure silica gel. It can be divided into organic silicone rubber sheet and inorganic silicone rubber sheet. silicone rubber sheet is a highly active adsorbent material, which is prepared by reacting sodium silicate and sulfuric acid, and undergoing a series of treatments such as aging and acid soak.

According to the performance and characteristics, silicone rubber sheets can be divided into: ordinary silicone rubber board, food grade ordinary silicone rubber board, ordinary gas phase silicone rubber board, food grade gas phase silicone rubber board, flame retardant (insulating) silicone rubber board, conductive silicone rubber board, high temperature resistant silicone rubber board.

The silicone rubber sheet has the following characteristics: good insulation performance, aging resistance, sealing performance, good adhesion and high strength. It is a non-corrosive one-component room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber,which is in the temperature range of  -50 ° C to +250 ° C. What's more, there will be no problem for long-term use. In addition, it also inherits the excellent properties of silica gel, with dielectric properties, corrosion resistance, high temperature and high pressure resistance, colorless and odorless characteristics.

Silicone rubber sheets can be widly used in many fields. The main uses are insulation, moisture, sealing, bonding, anti-vibration. Others such as bonding and sealing materials for semiconductor equipment, electronic appliances, etc.; sealing materials for aircraft cockpits, instrument cabins, and related parts in machine manufacturing. Notes on the use of silicone rubber sheets:

1. The surface of the product needs to be cleaned firstly, then the adhered rust, dust, oil, etc. should be cleaned.

2. The installation of the silica gel plate should ensure that the forces in the directions are uniform and consistent, and it should not be too tight or too loose. Considering that the silica gel plate has a certain coefficient of thermal expansion, it is recommended to heat the silica gel plate on the laminator when installing. The upper template is about  160 degrees Celsius, 2mm, 2 hours, and then the mold is closed.  For the silica gel plate, the position of the round hole must match the position of the template's circular hole.

3. The silicone rubber sheet is strictly prohibited from being unevenly stressed during use. It is strictly forbidden to cause artificial damage to the rubber sheet, such as iron filings and sand particles.

4, The silicone rubber sheet is not resistant to medium, the texture is relatively soft. It can not be cleaned with a strong solvent or acid-base solution to the surface. Instead, using neutral detergent, alcohol or other solvents. It is recommended to clean the treated surface frequently, at the same time, it is not possible to contact the silicone rubber sheet with sharp and sharp objects, resulting in local damage and stress concentration.
