There are several types of artificial turf: PA (nylon), PP (polypropylene), PE (polyethylene).

At present, most artificial turf uses PE grass, which is because although PA grass is very abrasion-resistant, the material is too hard and easily to hurt the athlete's skin; meanwhile, PP grass is poor in abrasion resistance and the life of the usage. The PE grass yarn is soft and has good abrasion resistance, and is widely used in sports fields and landscape places.


Morphology of artificial grass: Artificial grass is mostly reticulated or monofilament.

Reticulated silk artificial turf is a widely used turf. Monofilament artificial turf has become more popular in recent years. The main reason is that its appearance is very close to that of natural grass. 

The height of artificial grass: In Europe and the United States, the height of artificial grass in football stadiums is about 60mm. In China, the height of artificial grass is generally between 40-55mm. If the buyer needs to buy a higher artificial turf, a 60mm turf can be customized.

Backing method of artificial grass's base cloth: Generally artificial grass uses styrene-butadiene latex for backing. A good way of backing artificial grass is PU backing. The adhesion of PU backing is much higher than that of styrene-butadiene latex. It is bright and waterproof. At the same time, because PU adhesive is molded at one time, a small amount of additives can be used, so it is more environmentally friendly. However, the cost of PU adhesive is high, and the price of the product is usually 20% -30% higher than that of styrene-butadiene latex products.

Type of base fabric for artificial turf: Generally divided into composite base fabric and composite grid three-layer base fabric. The tensile strength of the three-layer base fabric is much higher.

Artificial turf's stitching method: Commonly 1shaped stitching and Z-shaped stitching. Both methods can meet the requirements for the use of artificial grass, but for artificial turf using Z-shaped needles, the distribution of grass filaments is more uniform, and the adhesive strength of the adhesive is higher.

The density of artificial grass: For a 50 mm artificial turf, about 10,000 stitches are needed. If consumers need higher quality artificial turf, the density can be increased appropriately, but the cost will increase accordingly.
